Practice Lab | In partnership with IBM

Rome Business School Practice Lab (2024) is where theoretical concepts are put into practice and participants learn through experience. The Lab is run by IBM managers who will examine different specialist knowledge, work on exercises, and network while sharing their experience and expertise with the students. This Lab is entirely run by IBM managers with whom you will solve a business challenge of IBM.

Capstone Project

At the end of your educational experience, you will have the chance to prove your abilities by tackling a real business challenge. Use your talent to identify opportunities and create a truly innovative strategy.

Tackle a real company challenge. You can choose to be part of a small team and design a Marketing plan for a new business or develop a strategy to increase online sales or create a loyalty offering for different generation.

You will be given two case studies from two real companies that will allow you to test your knowledge learnt during the master’s course.

Valentino Megale

Valentino Megale is a tech entrepreneur, biologist, and innovation author specializing in mental well-being through immersive technologies and AI- driven data tracking. He is the CEO and co-founder of Softcare Studios, a digital health startup using extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence to optimize medical treatments and support patients' mental health.

Dr. Megale has over 7 years of professional experience in the digital health industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from the University “D’Annunzio” of Chieti, with international experience in Austria and France. He is also an online teacher for immersive technologies and AI at the Web Marketing Festival and  lecturer and Program Director the Rome Business School. His academic experience spans 6 years, with a focus on neuropharmacology and biotech.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades, including being named “Best E-Health Startup” at the Startup Europe Awards and participating in international accelerator programs like Accelerace and TMCx. He has spoken at prestigious events such as TEDx and participated in innovation challenges with global companies like Pfizer and Merck.

Technical Sales Public Sector at Google and Program Director of the Master in Data Science at Rome Business School, Silvia Bellucci brings over 25 years of experience in Digital Transformation. Formerly a Senior Manager at IBM, she is an expert in Cloud Architecture and Analytics. She holds a degree in Physics from Sapienza University with advanced training from SDA Bocconi. A Google Cloud Club 2024 Winner, she is actively involved in supporting young professionals in the tech industry.

Giacomo Scettri Professor of the Master in Digital Marketing and Business Transformation

Giacomo Scettri is a data science and machine learning trainer with over 1,000 hours of corporate training delivered for companies such as Codemotion, TIM, and Manpower. An adjunct professor at Campus Bio-Medico University in Rome, he holds a Master's in History and Teaching of Physics from Bologna, a Master's in Physics of Complex Systems from IFISC in Palma de Mallorca, and a degree in Physics from La Sapienza. He is also the founder of "Dopolavoro matematico", a movement dedicated to making mathematics accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Corrado Centrone Senior Advisor in Digital Transformation, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Fractional Manager

Engineer Corrado Centrone is a data analytics expert with over 30 years of professional experience, specializing in artificial intelligence applications within the healthcare and insurance sectors. He currently serves as the Data Business Analytics Director at Aon, where he leads the development of AI-driven decision-making tools and advanced business intelligence systems for the management and optimization of healthcare plans. A graduate in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa, he completed executive programs in project management, marketing, and innovation at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Altran Paris. As co-founder and Technical Director of Pronto-Care, he created the first dental and physiotherapy network in Italy, developing AI-supported insurance risk analysis systems. He has held managerial and technical roles in international contexts, operating across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for multinational companies such as Dräger. His expertise includes data integration (ETL), functional analysis, fraud detection, and business intelligence with AI technologies. He is registered with the Order of Engineers of Rome and regularly participates in training programs in AI, healthcare analytics, and agile methodologies.

Pietro Marinelli is an Artificial Intelligence expert and Data Scientist with over 15 years of experience across academic, public, and private sectors. He is currently CEO of PheasyAI, where he leads innovation in AI applications for healthcare. A graduate in Statistics from Sapienza University of Rome, he has over a decade of university teaching experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science. He previously served as Senior Data Scientist at CRIF and is ranked among the top 3 Data Scientists in Italy on Kaggle.

Domenico Pontari IT Entrepreneur

Domenico Pontari is an IT entrepreneur and artificial intelligence consultant with over 20 years of professional experience in software development, data science, and university education. He is the founder and CEO of WiNK, a Rome-based company specializing in the rapid prototyping and AI solutions for startups and R&D departments of large enterprises. He currently serves as College Director at ELIS, where he coordinates advanced training programs on digital technologies and soft skills, with a particular focus on the application of artificial intelligence in education and innovation. He has held leadership roles in software development and online training, managing technology projects funded by European initiatives. Domenico holds a degree in Engineering from the University of Naples "Federico II," with previous studies at Politecnico di Milano. He boasts over 15 years of teaching experience in scientific and digital innovation fields at institutions like the Rome Business School. He has also collaborated internationally, including as a Data Scientist for Axwave Inc. in Silicon Valley. Certified in MBTI® and Advanced Coaching, he combines technical expertise with educational leadership to promote the culture and adoption of artificial intelligence.

He holds an MSc in Finance and Investment Management from the University of Salford and has completed executive programmes at LUISS Business School and Politecnico di Torino.

Carmine Buono is an IT Manager and Principal Solution Architect with over 25 years of experience across multiple Information Technology disciplines. He currently works at Olidata SpA, leading complex projects in AI, Machine Learning, and cybersecurity for clients including the Italian Banking Group and the Bank of Italy. His career includes senior roles at Integris SpA and CRISMA srl, delivering projects for Terna, TIM, and Poste Italiane. A lecturer at Rome Business School in Data Science, AI, and Big Data, he holds a degree in Computer Engineering, a Master's in GIS, and a PMP® certification.

Maria Rosaria Raspanti Professor of the International Master in AI

Maria Rosaria Raspanti, Ph.D., is Counsel in Antitrust and Regulatory Law at Pavia e Ansaldo, with over 12 years of experience in EU competition law, consumer protection, and digital regulation. She is Honorary Fellow in International Economic Law at LUISS and a lecturer at Rome Business School. She holds a Ph.D. in Law and Economics from the University of Siena. Winner of the Antitrust Defence Award (2017) and named Lawyer of the Year – EU & Competition at the Legalcommunity Fortyunder40 Awards, she has published extensively on competition policy, online distribution, and digital enforcement in the EU.
