The Professional Master in Artificial Intelligence is structured to enable participants to acquire skills to cater for the needs of the current business landscape.

The Online Learning Methodology 

Online Methodology  

Adhering to the highest standards of teaching methodology provided by EFMD, the Master is taught through interactive lectures, case study analyses, exercises, discussions, teamwork exercises, video conferences, business analysis and sessions of student presentations. Students are encouraged to read and engage in discussions and debates. The teaching methodology is based on learning by doing, with lecturers implementing a student-centered approach, getting students involved and providing activities that allow students to apply the knowledge acquired. The Online Methodology consists of live, interactive lectures, led and facilitated by professors. The programs are self-paced, as students take pre-master courses at their own speed and using self-assessment exercises. This practical, applicable methodology consists of synchronous and asynchronous activities.   

 

SELF-PACED 

Students are free to learn at their own pace and define personal learning paths based on their individual needs and interests, as well as the content provided, taking into account the deadlines for learning, evaluation and assessments. The self-paced methodology is applied on the pre-master courses, which are based on pre-recorded interactive sessions led by the lecturer professor, with a PPT presentation, exercises and self-assessment for each course. Students study the material at their own pace and do a self-assessment exercise to track their progress.   

 

PROFESSOR-LED AND FACILITATED 

The online learning methodology is fully professor-led and facilitated live in real time. Every lecture is created and delivered by a lecturer using our online platform Blackboard. The communication tools used by the lecturers include discussion forums, chats, emails, breakout sessions, whiteboards, and audio and video sharing to communicate and work together. As a final step, sessions usually include an exercise or assessment to measure the learning.  

 

LIVE & INTERACTIVE 

The online methodology in every class is live and interactive. Teaching methods and techniques are used creatively to develop an engaging and motivating learning experience. There is frequent interaction with the student interaction to foster and maintain engagement and promote learning.  

 

PRACTICAL & APPLICABLE 

The online learning methodology is practical, with all the class activities and online learning methods, e-content and materials used also being put into practice in the different assessments (self-assessments, tests and practical assignments), capstone project and class activities.  

 

SYNCHRONOUS AND ASYNCHRONOUS ACTIVITIES 

The online methodology is structured as a combination of synchronous or real-time activities (such as online platform chats, breakout rooms/sessions, virtual pooling, virtual whiteboard, etc.) and asynchronous or on-demand activities, which students can do whenever suits them best in terms of their preferences and other commitments (such as emails, discussion forum platforms, online platform meetings, recorded lectures via links, virtual coffee and conversation sessions, etc.). 

 

Leadership Program 

Soft skills are personal attributes that can affect relationships, communication, and interaction with others, which are crucial for business success and effective leadership in the high-tech world and digital transformation in which we live. None of the new technology and innovation can be applied without proper leadership. William Carbone is the Co-founder & CEO of The Adjacent Possible, an R&D company helping organizations leverage new intellectual property licensing opportunities in different industries and with the mission to connect global technology ecosystems that co-develop common IP applications from various perspectives.

During his former 10+ years tenure at IBM, he has covered roles such as Quantum Ambassador, Global Business Development for the Aerospace and Defence industries, Program Manager for AI and Innovation and has been a member of the prestigious IBM Academy of Technology.  William is an entrepreneur with a long experience in creating innovation ecosystems and promoting talent around the world (Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, United States and Middle East). As the chairman of the IBM Technical Experts Council for CEE, he promoted innovation, patents, research and cutting-edge technologies such as Quantum, Blockchain, AI, IoT, HybridCloud, and the technical eminence of young talents in the region, creating a network of experts connected to external ecosystems and startups.

William is the winner of two Stevie Awards for the best solutions in the categories: business technology solution (2019) and sales and customer service (2020). He has more than ten scientific publications and patents and over 40 international presences as keynote speaker in major conferences and summits of global importance. Additionally, William was selected in a team of 13 out of 5300 worldwide talents to develop business ideas in Finland, a program called 90 Days Finn. William is a proud member of the Sonophilia Foundation, devoted to advancing the scientific research of creative and critical thinking in the world.

 

PROFESSORS 

NICOLO’ SGOBBA

Nicolo’ Sgobba is a computer scientist, Master Certified Technical Specialist, and a former IBMer with a decade of enterprise-level experience in CEE, Nordics, and MEA regions. He is a serial inventor with patents in the fields of AI and cognitive technologies, virtual assistants, semantic/text analytics, speech-to-text technology, location-based services, IoT, cloud, storage, and fire-fighting technologies. During his tenure at IBM, he has covered many technical and managerial roles in the areas of cognitive technologies, data analytics, software development, and held the role of Director of Patenting, Innovation, and Research of the Technical Experts Council of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At present, Nicolo’ Sgobba is the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Inventor at The Adjacent Possible, a Helsinki-based Open Innovation Studio that operates cross-industry.

 

JOVAN MENDEZ REBOLLEDO

Prof. Rebolledo holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Japan, and Postdoc and research from UofL, OIST. He is currently working as Chair Researcher at the University of Tokyo.  His current research interests relate to neural networks, how to teach it in innovative ways, novel computational models based on newly discovered brain models, building-up neuromorphic chips, ingenious applications for ANN with new types of sensors, and all the previous combined.   Furthermore, using Adaptive Systems, AI and Neuroscience, he designs and to evaluates technologies in Bioinformatics, Evolutionary Computation and Evolutionary Biology; especially, technology that creates biological databases, models of correlations, intelligent interfaces, and complex systems.

 

VLAD LICHTENTHAL

Prof. Vlad Lichtenthal is an innovation scholar and a serial entrepreneur. He conducts applied research in Open Innovation at the University of Hamburg (Germany). He is also a senior lecturer in Strategy and Leadership at the Aalborg University Business School (Denmark) . As an external examiner for  the Danish Ministry of Education, Vlad co-develops new study programs in business- and innovation management and is involved in their long-term quality development. In 2021 he co-founded Finland’s first Open innovation studio “The Adjacent Possible.”

 

FILIPPO FABROCINI

Prof. Filippo Fabrocini is Full Professor in the College of Design & Innovation, Director of the “Sustainable AI Lab”, and among the founders of the Tongji University “AI & Art Lab”. His main areas of interest are AI Art, Computational Art, AI for Design, Ethical AI, and Machine Learning. Previously he has been Senior Researcher at IBM Research (Rome, Italy/San Jose, USA), Visiting Researcher in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA), Professor in the Dep. of Philosophy at Gregorian University, and General Manager of the IBM Milan/Rome Business Innovation Center.  Currently, he is a member of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development “Task Force China” (Group: Artificial Intelligence). He is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and of the Cognitive Science Society (CSS). Recently he has been a Keynote Speaker at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2021 (WAIC 2021). Prof. Fabrocini is the author of more than 35 papers and three books.

We use innovative technologies in our classrooms to enrich the overall educational experience and improve student learning outcomes on campus and online. The platforms and technologies in use have a profound impact on student learning.

All classrooms are networked and feature SMART Board technology:

  • Professional audio mixers and microphones in each class, required for the interaction of students in the classroom simultaneously with students online.

A Historical Heritage

The building, designed by Achille Zinnari, was built for the 1911 Universal Exhibition.

In that occasion, an Exposition celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the Unification of Italy was also organized in Rome, and a national architecture competition was launched for the construction of ten villas. Among these, the Villino Avenali, now the Rome Business School campus.

The admission process is aimed to verify the candidate’s eligibility to attend the Master. The candidate’s academic history, previous experiences in the topics covered in the Master and motivation will be matters of the evaluation. Once it’s sent, the application will be evaluated by the Rome Business School’s academic committee. In order to ensure the application’s suitability, it is important to deliver all of the required documentation.

Scholarships and Tuition

Payment

Payment of the participation fee of € 4.500 can be made in the following ways:

  • 6 interest free installments after the course starts
  • Installments before the course starts with an additional 5% discount
  • Single payment solution by the enrollment deadline with an additional 10% discount

Scholarships

Based on their personal profile, experience and proven motivation, the candidate may be awarded a scholarship to partially cover the participation fee.
