Dayana S., now Communication and Guest Relations Intern at Rocco Forte Hotels
Dayana S., student of the Global Master in Marketing & Sales, explains how important have been the networking opportunities obtained through the RBS events, as fairs or company meetings, that have put her in contact with the company she is now working for.
Tell about yourself, what your pre, during, and post master’s degree journey has brought you to where you are today.
My name is Dayana, I’m 24, I am originally Russian but brought up in Switzerland. After I finished my Bachelor in Digital Media and Communications in Geneva I decided to go for a completely new experience and to move to another country for my masters. After a lot of research I found Rome Business School and just went for it. And so here I am.
What are the most important skills you acquired at RBS, which ones you will need to work on the most and which ones to focus on that are essential in the world of work today.
Honestly the most important skill I learned at RBS is networking. It’s also the one I needed to work on the most considering my introverted personality. I would also say that networking is incredibly important in the world of work today. The places you can get with the right approach to networking though.
Why did you decide to join RBS, what did the master’s program give you in terms of skills, competencies, meetings with companies and experiences?
The reason why I chose RBS is its impressive employability rate. This gave me an impression of RBS having a great level of education as well as an impressive networking platform and my expectations were fully met. RBS really boosted my skills and knowledge in marketing and sales and it also helped me find great contacts and even a job through companies’ meetings.
What do you want to focus on in your work experience today, and what is your career goal?
For now I just want to focus on gaining experience and learning from professionals in order to boost my career opportunities in future. My career goal would be becoming a department manager within the company I’m working for at the moment (Rocco Forte Hotels).
