BIO:
Reinout Bosman lives in Florence, Italy. In 2017, his career really took off, when he followed his heart and arrived in Italy with only 1.000 euros in his pocket, jumping into the unknown. Today Reinout teaches, inspires and wakes up people’s truest potential by lecturing and coaching in Public Speaking, Softskills and intrapersonal communication. In the past years he met over 3.000 international students and (young) professionals from all walks of life and different cultural backgrounds whilst working in private institutes, business schools and the corporate and political environment.
When did you find out you that you wanted to be a teacher?
I always liked to help people but did not know exactly why I liked it so much. Until I was asked to give a guest lecture to a group of 100 students of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. I remember that I started and I felt that my heart skipped a beat. That was for me the sign that it was exactly that thing what I had to do.
What teaching strategies or techniques do you usually use?
What honours us is that you see people for who they really are and discover with them their truest potential. My lectures are like coaching sessions where interaction, reflection and ‘on the spot’ improvement takes place.
What are the 3 fundamental competences that a worker needs to have in order to succeed in his/her future career?
1. A clear intention: knowing why he or she is doing what he or she is doing and with which motivation
2. Walk the talk: being aware of who you are and translate that into how you would like to be seen by the world and understand what your contribution is going to be
3. Understand that what you do is always a service to another. It’s not about you, it’s about them.
What suggestion would you like to give to your students about how to get the most out of their educational experience?
Education is the most beautiful playground you can have. The more you try and dare, the more you learn. So,step into the Arena and make it happen for yourself. Even when you fail badly, you anyhow dared greatly (as Roosevelt once said)
According to you, what are the 3 main characteristics that a successful manager should have?
Do you have a mentor? If yes, who?
I have several mentors. Two great friends with whom I work as well and I have my own business coach (fundamental to understand my own blind spots and improve my business). And my >90 years old Maestro is one of the biggest mentors when it comes up to life, love and (music) career
The most important lesson that you learned during your career path.
To be vulnerable and showing up no matter how difficult the situation can be.
How would you have your students find out their talent?
They say I am famous for the many questions I ask. Because by questioning and listening you find the most beautiful answers and those answers lead to find guidance, direction and purpose in life.
How do you motivate yourself to take action?
Well, I put the dot on the horizon and then I make a strategy. It should feel good and then I proceed step by step. When there is the right flow you don’t need motivation… you just go. But I try to eat healthy, do some exercise and ‘switch off’ to be sure that my cup keeps running over.
What would you like to change about yourself?
I can feel overwhelmed when I have a lot to do or when I am in difficult conversations (mostly when I am super attached). And I would like to improve that part to keep my head cool and my heart soft to face those situations with more ease and grace.
What are you doing to change the world?
I work as a Public Speaking & soft skills coach and trainer with the aim to give the ‘next generation’ a voice and make them aware of their own talents. Furthermore, I spark some light as an opera singer, when I give my own concerts. Next to that, I dedicate time to RainbowTree International, a non-profit organization based in the Netherlands, that supports children who are facing challenging situations like illness, war and poverty. Finally, I work on Mental health issues and the improvement of Education worldwide by supporting various Youngster programs of the United Nations.

Difficult question! I would say an insalata di Polpo con patate.

What are your interests and hobbies?
Since I have met my Maestro (who is >90 years old) I have discovered my singing voice. He, as an old Lyrical Opera singer and former colleague of Luciano Pavarotti and Renata Tebaldi, teaches me how to sing opera. And that is where my passion comes to life, when I sing pieces of Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti and have an audience to perform for.
What are your weaknesses?
I can be impatient (and yes, my friends will laugh now).
The craziest thing you have ever done…
Doing an audition for the official international launch of the Milano Design week (2019), after less than one year of attending singing classes. They have chosen me… so the second craziest thing was singing live for an audience of more than 500 people.
The happiest day of your life…
So far, it’s definitely the day I performed in Milano during the opening of the Design Week. That feeling of connecting with your audience by using your voice and your non-verbal communication was unforgettable.
What makes you feel angry?
When people lack transparency, honesty or integrity.
What embarrasses you?
When I vocalize at home and I do not hit the high note… And then afterwards discover that the windows were open… ?
Define Happiness
Happiness is what you feel in your heart and, in my belief, is connected to gratitude. It is that warm feeling of total bliss that pops up when you are truly doing what you belong to do in this life.
