Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) at RBS for a Global Leadership Program

Last week, the Savannah College of Art and Design visited Rome Business School to participate in our Global Business Leadership Development Program.

SCAD, top ranked by The Hollywood Reporter, Design Intelligence and The Business of Fashion (BoF), chose to join us to enhance their students’ professional and entrepreneurial skills, combining high quality education while experiencing the extraordinary atmosphere of the Eternal City.

Activities of the Study Tour

The 18 SCAD students, accompanied by two professors, participated in brainstorming sessions, innovative thinking exercises, business game simulation, classroom design activities, networking and business meeting opportunities, and networking and business meeting opportunities to practise skills and set an entrepreneurial mindset.

The lectures were engaging and focused on the dichotomy between Italy and US, two countries and cultures that are dialmetrally opposed yet so close to each other. Among the topics discussed were the Marketing Strategies of the Made in Italy, Country Branding and Managing Cultural Projects.

Furthermore, participants had the unique opportunity to combine their studies with various activities in the Italian capital, including a cooking experience, taking advantage of the city’s many beauties and initiatives, and learning in one of Italy’s most productive hubs.

“It was a magnificent time visiting the RBS campus and touring Rome together. RBS’s generosity, graciousness and attention to detail is very much appreciated. Thank you for hosting us and delivering a valuable, well-curated and lovely experience” stated Professor Oscar Betancur, Chair of Advertising and Branding at SCAD.

“Through a mutual agreement with our partners, we create practical learning opportunities, innovative international mobility, and memorable “made in Italy” study-abroad experiences” commented Gerlie Saura, RBS International Business Development Manager.

Special thanks to our professors Giuliana Baldo Chiaron and Giosuè Prezioso for their interesting lessons related to the theme of Made in Italy and Francesca Pollicini General Manager of Institutional events ICOM for the lecture related to Arts Management.
