On 20 January, Rome Business School had the pleasure of meeting the students of the American University in Dubai (AUD) for an in-campus academic session. This session focused on one of the most emblematic examples of contemporary luxury and experiential management. Specifically, RBS brought to the AUD campus the case study “Armani Hotel: Redefining Luxury Through Immersive Experience”, presented by Prof. Antonio Ragusa, Dean of Rome Business School. Moreover, the initiative represented a concrete moment of exchange between two internationally oriented institutions, united by a shared vision of global education.
The Armani Hotel case offered students a deep dive into how a global luxury brand translates its identity into a fully immersive hospitality experience. Through strategic decisions and brand coherence, the case illustrated how luxury today goes beyond products. Indeed, it has become an integrated and emotional experience. Guided by Prof. Antonio Ragusa, students were encouraged to critically analyse the business model. Furthermore, they discussed strategic trade-offs and reflected on how global brands adapt to different cultural contexts while preserving their core values.
This meeting reflects the growing synergy between Rome Business School and American University in Dubai. Both institutions place international exposure and practical learning at the heart of their educational approach. In addition to the classroom session, the visit included a fruitful conversation around possible areas of future collaboration. Therefore, the schools explored opportunities for academic exchange, joint initiatives, and long-term partnership development.
Hosting the session directly on the AUD campus created a highly interactive learning environment. Consequently, students actively participated in the discussion and shared their perspectives. They also asked insightful questions and engaged directly with real-world business challenges. The lecture was extremely well received, confirming the impact of industry-driven case studies in an international academic setting.
In an increasingly interconnected world, exposure to global case studies plays a crucial role in students’ development. In particular, sessions like this help students to:
By interacting with international faculty, students gain insights that go beyond textbooks. This experience effectively prepares them for careers in complex and multicultural business environments.
Rome Business School strongly believes in the value of academic partnerships as drivers of educational excellence. Thus, the meeting with AUD represents another step toward building meaningful connections. These ties enrich the learning experience and foster a truly global business education ecosystem.
In conclusion, we would like to thank the American University in Dubai for the warm welcome. We appreciate the high level of engagement and look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and create shared value through education.
