Students enrolled in the RBS4Entrepreneurship program are challenged during the Digital Hackathon, a day between masterclasses and 1-to-1 mentorship to realize their tech projects in the development of their startup project.
During the masterclass, Philipp von Hammerstein, Managing Director of Epicode Germany, helped the teams understand the necessary steps as a startupper facing the development of their tech project, discussing architecture, design and features among the wide range of topics covered: “Today design is an integral part of the product, with such fierce competition, having good design is of paramount importance.”
He also advised the participants on having an extremely niche product, stating: “I give you an example, today Zalando sells everything but initially, 15 years ago, they targeted people from 20 to 25 and only sold sandals and flip flops. Furthermore they specifically targeted people living in the countryside, who have access to a very limited range of products”.
During the second half of the day students practiced what they learnt and addressed their project-specific questions with the help from tech mentors from EPICODE: Lidia Kovac, Viren Patil, Michael Marco Redruello, Anthony Nwachukwu, Ademuyiwa Otubusin.
Another great opportunity for young entrepreneurs to further their knowledge on the startup world!
