Canon teams up with Rome Business School to investigate the future of printing

Canon Italia participates in the “Capstone Project,” an initiative realized in partnership with Rome Business School that combines two major objectives: the enhancement of talent and market innovation. A training project and, at the same time, an observatory of primary excellence that has involved four students of the International MBA of Rome Business School in the realization of a research dedicated to the possible strategic business scenarios in the field of professional printing applied to various market sectors. A research that focuses on the use of the latest digital technologies to think about a future of printing without limits.

Starting with knowledge sharing from Canon’s team of experts, students constructed and conducted research in several European states, focusing on trends and purchase preferences of users from different market sectors. The concepts of Total Experience (TX) and Mass Personalization directed the construction of this Capstone Project. This project is also the final step in the training of the four students and is part of a larger collaborative process that has involved Canon in multiple opportunities to meet with students such as Company meeting, Practice Lab, Welcome Week, and Bootcamp.

According to Prof. Antonio Scialletti, Program Director of Rome Business School’s International MBA

“This Capstone Project once again demonstrates the strong link between the business school and the corporate world, the common commitment to train managers of the future, ready to face and seize new business challenges and opportunities.”

From the Capstone Project a White Paper was born: a valuable tool aimed at inspiring future action. Indeed, the principle behind the entire initiative is that of Open Innovation, in which excellent educational programs and training paths become the real driving force behind innovation while providing new stimuli and opportunities for exchange for companies.

“Enhancing human potential, supporting the professional growth of the individual and creating a stimulating and welcoming work environment are among the biggest challenges we as companies face on a daily basis. For Canon, promoting a corporate culture that embraces personal development and collaboration is an essential goal,” says Arianna Ferrini Human Resources Director of Canon Italia. “I believe it is fundamental for our reality to create and maintain constant relationships with the school and academic world in search of exchange and growth, in an ecosystemic logic and corporate social responsibility.”

Canon constantly invests in the skills and professional development of its staff and Partners, with a view to acquiring and promoting new skills required by the market. The collaboration with Rome Business School aims to create a partnership that contributes to the cultural and institutional growth and development goals of both Canon employees and business school students. In fact, Canon is also a partner company part of the Corporte Advisory Board of Rome Business School (CAB) composed of 97 leading companies and multinationals in the world, which support the continuous updating of the educational offer based on new market trends and demands.

“We are confident that promoting a sustainable and inclusive future means first and foremost valuing collaboration and expertise. There can be no innovation without a free and constant exchange of thought,” Arianna Ferrini concludes.
