The partnership between Canon Italia and Rome Business School continues, with the two entities engaged on different activities with a twofold common goal: to enhance talent and bring innovation to the market. After a first project that saw the two companies collaborate on the realization of a research dedicated to the possible business scenarios of professional printing applied to various market sectors with the strategy of Mass Customization, they wanted to explore and analyze the new world of workspace through the Business Practice Labs. These are activities organized by Rome Business School that include case study analysis, role-plays, group work and discussions between students and business managers who share their experience and teach participants how to prepare and present real business cases.
Today’s Workspace world are realities in which digitization has become increasingly pervasive on the one hand and workspaces increasingly fluid on the other. All this has required companies to rapidly adapt their infrastructure and business processes: in this, simplicity becomes a key factor.
And it is precisely from this concept that the “Canon Easy Experience (E2X)” challenge was launched to a small group of participants at the Rome Business School, which saw four evening appointments of two hours each during which the future of work was explored from an Easy Experience perspective. It is with this iconic expression that Canon’s approach to the workspace world has been renamed, where the common denominator is simplicity in the management of paper and digital documents while simplifying processes thanks to Canon technology. E2X represents Canon’s entire offering for the workspace world, complete with products and services, capable of concretely responding to the needs of increasingly widespread work environments, with printing and imaging solutions that ensure collaboration, security and sustainability. All with maximum ease of use and management.
Through challenges, exercises, role plays and case studies, the 15 students involved, divided into two groups, tried their hand at proposing possible new use cases of the Canon Easy Experience offering. Specifically, the participants were asked to develop meaningful practical solutions, provide feasibility evidence for the proposed solutions, and hypothesize the necessary steps to make the proposed ideas executive. A workshop looking at the present and the future of work experience within different business environments.
With this project, Canon consolidates its partnership with Rome Business School and, once again, promotes the exchange of value with students and professionals. The purpose is twofold, on the one hand to support high-value training initiatives and to broaden one’s outlook, keeping one’s horizons open, thanks to the help of talent.
In fact, the principle behind the entire initiative is that of Open Innovation in which educational programs and training paths of excellence become the real driving force behind innovation and at the same time offer new stimuli and opportunities for exchange to companies.
“We strongly believe in collaboration between the university and corporate worlds. A path of mutual growth and sharing in which business becomes a training tool capable of transmitting to young people the real challenges of the world of work, and where students can contribute by bringing different and in some cases unconventional points of view,” commented Giuseppe D’Amelio, D&PS Planning Marketing & Innovation Director of Canon Italia.
“This is the essence of Open Innovation according to Canon, where the collaboration with Rome Business School is a concrete example of how it is possible to promote functional skills for the world of work and at the same time bring innovation to the company.”
Canon constantly invests in the professional development of its staff and its Partners, with a view to acquiring and promoting new skills required by the market. The collaboration with Rome Business School aims to create a partnership that contributes to the cultural and institutional growth and development goals of both Canon employees and the academy’s students.
“We believe that it is crucial for the education of our students to offer them the practical experience they need to be competitive in the job market. This partnership with Canon represents a unique opportunity for our students to learn from the best minds in the industry and apply their knowledge in a professional environment. We are very excited about this collaboration and look forward to seeing the results our students will achieve through this partnership,” commented Antonio Ragusa, Dean of Rome Business School.
