On Wednesday the 14th of May, the Rome Business School’s students had the chance to visit the headquarters of FAO (the Food and Agriculture Organization), one of the best known global organization which strives to eliminate hunger, malnutrition and poverty through economic and social progress and sustainable management.
Dr. Sabatino Salvi welcomed the students at the headquarters, which are located in a magnificent environment between the Circo Massimo and the Colosseum.
He acted as a competent guide, presenting the organization’s history and anecdotes, its fields of action, activities, objectives and social commitments to the students.
All the students were captivated by the FAO’s history and its inner structure: the elegance of the building, the multicultural environment, the offices and the conference rooms, (especially the three main ones: the Red, the Green and the Plenaria). In particular, the Plenaria conference room left a lasting impression in the students’ minds with the United Nations flags hung all around the room.
After getting an overview of the organization as a whole, the students met Katia Meloni, who is in charge of the Outreach and Promotion Office for Corporate Communication. She presented the new edition of Hunger Run: a marathon that brings together thousands of people with a shared objective: to defeat hunger.
The Rome Business School, with its sustainable and socially responsible vision, supports this internationally renowned event as a sponsor.
At the end of the tour, the students visited the amazing terrace, which boasts one of the best views of Rome.
It was an interesting educational experience that enabled the Rome Business School’s students to get to know such an important and global organization from the inside to the end of enriching their cultural background to achieve a managerial and socially responsible training of excellence.
