Costas Piliounis

Program Director

Costas Piliounis is Managing Director of PNValue and Program Director of the Master in Pharma Management at Rome Business School, where he also served as Professor of Management for over seven years. He brings over 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and food industries, with a strong academic and executive leadership background.

He began his career in R&D and production within the food industry before joining Novo Nordisk in 1987, where he held several senior roles over three decades, including Head of Middle East & Africa, Head of Marketing and Business Development for International Operations, and Corporate Vice President for Southern Europe. In 2017, he founded PNValue, an investment and consulting firm focused on innovation in e-Health. Through PNValue, he actively supports health-tech startups and served as Chairman of the Board at BluSense Diagnostics (2019–2020).

Mr. Piliounis holds an MSc in Food Science and Management from the University of London and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Patras. He maintains strong global corporate connections and brings extensive cross-functional and cross-regional expertise in regulatory affairs, strategic leadership, and pharmaceutical market development.

Alessandro Cattel Economist and data analyst

Alessandro Cattel is an economist and data analyst with over 10 years of professional experience, currently serving as an Officer in the Research Division at the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. His work focuses on research coordination, internal process design, and business intelligence for institutional decision-making. He holds a PhD in Mathematical, Statistical, and Economic Analysis of Social Phenomena from Sapienza University of Rome, with a specialization in health economics and public finance, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (LUISS Guido Carli, cum laude).Dr. Cattel has over a decade of academic teaching and research experience, including lectureships in business statistics and public finance at institutions such as Roma Tre University, St. John’s University, and the American University of Rome. His research focuses on Pharmaceutical regularion and taxation of addictive goods, consumer behavior, and the political economy of healthcare. He has published in international peer-reviewed volumes and was a shortlisted candidate for the European Commission’s DG Competition.

Alice Flacco Vice-President Legal at Microport Scientific Corporation

Alice Flacco is a distinguished international lawyer with over 10 years of experience in European, US, and Chinese legal affairs. She currently serves as Vice President and General Counsel at MicroPort, overseeing legal operations for the company’s Cardiac Rhythm Management division. Alice has a robust background in advising on high-profile corporate governance, cross-border transactions, international M&A, and IP matters. She is fluent in Italian, French, and English, with basic proficiency in Mandarin. Alice holds a Master’s in Business Law from the University of Paris II, Panthéon-Assas, and a Master of Laws from Università La Sapienza, Rome. She is an award-winning legal expert, recognized for her contributions to M&A and litigation (General Counsel of the Year, Italy Award – Mergers & Acquisitions, 2024 – Global Legal Association, Dubai 2024) and frequently speaks at global legal conferences. Francesca Borghetti Value, Access & Policy Manager

Francesca Borghetti is a healthcare economist and market access specialist with over 18 years of experience in pharmacoeconomics, health technology assessment, and value-based healthcare. She currently serves as Value, Access & Policy Manager at Medtronic, where she leads therapy value proposition development and designs cost-effectiveness and budget impact models across multiple therapeutic areas. She holds a Master’s degree in Medical Statistics and Epidemiology from the University of Milan and has completed specialized training in economic modeling at the University of York and SDA Bocconi. Her academic experience includes teaching Pharmacoeconomics at the University of Milan’s postgraduate School of Hospital Pharmacy. Her industry experience spans pharmaceuticals and medtech, with responsibilities including HTA submissions to AIFA, development of cost-utility frameworks, and partnership with academic and clinical institutions on real-world evidence projects. She is co-author of multiple peer-reviewed publications on healthcare preferences, remote monitoring, and chronic disease management in leading European journals. Ms. Borghetti is recognized for her expertise in aligning economic evidence with policy, reimbursement strategy, and innovative access models in the Italian and broader EU healthcare context.

Francesco Landolfi Program Director of Master in Marketing

Francesco Landolfi is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in leadership roles across e-health industrie, private equity, and, management consulting, covering international managerial positions in sales and marketing at major companies such as Microsoft, Baxter, and IBM. He currently serves as a lecturer and external professor specializing in Entrepreneurship and International Business Management, having developed a course on "Managing Entrepreneurial Ventures" for MBA students He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, with a concentration in Finance and International Business, and a degree in Economics, cum laude, from L.U.I.S.S. University in Rome. Mr. Landolfi has also taught on subjects related to international business, having contributed to academic institutions globally. Mr. Landolfi’s extensive professional experience includes senior roles at major firms such as Microsoft Italy, Arthur D. Little, and Arventia Capital, where he led strategic projects in e-health, digital health, healthcare SMEs, and private equity investments, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises. He has been instrumental in the development of groundbreaking technologies and projects in health services and has forged strong international corporate relationships, particularly in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He is also involved in several advisory and board roles and has contributed to numerous cross-border business initiatives. Outside of his professional achievements, Mr. Landolfi is an active member of Harvard University’s Fund Raising Alumni Committee. He is program director at RBS of the master in Marketing & Sales since 2018.

Gaia Nina Marano Lawyer

Gaia Nina Marano is an Italian attorney and academic with over 10 years of professional experience in employment law, HR, and business management within the pharma and healthcare sectors. She is currently a Guest Lecturer in Sustainable Development Law. She holds an MBA and two law degrees (LL.M. in Tax Law and LL.B.) from Luiss Guido Carli University, with international study at the University of Gothenburg. Marano has over four years of university teaching experience and a strong record of legal practice, advising on workplace disputes, compliance, and labor litigation. she advises on labor disputes and regulatory compliance for healthcare organizations and international institutions like EBA Clearing and owns and manages the Ragusa Pharmacy,. Her publications in *IPSOA Quotidiano* address labor law and workplace policy, reflecting her active engagement in legal scholarship and practice.

Giulia Agostini Marketing Lead (Director) @Pfizer

Giulia Agostini is a pharmaceutical marketing executive with over 15 years of international experience across the healthcare and life sciences sectors, specializing in product launch, portfolio strategy, and market access. She currently serves as Marketing Lead (Director) at Pfizer Italy, where she oversees go-to-market strategies and lifecycle management for a broad portfolio, including cardiovascular, vaccines, and antiviral therapies. She holds a Master of Science in International Marketing and Management from Copenhagen Business School and completed the CEMS Master in International Management through academic residencies at the University of Sydney, Bocconi, and GSOM St. Petersburg. Her academic work includes published research on cross-national engagement behavior in digital platforms. Previously, Ms. Agostini held senior marketing and commercial roles at Novo Nordisk, Baxalta, and Shire, driving key launches in diabetes, oncology, and rare diseases. Dr. Luana Riccardi is Associate Director of Regulatory Strategy at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where she leads regulatory planning and compliance for innovative therapies in the pharmaceutical sector. She brings over 18 years of experience in regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, and healthcare management, with prior leadership roles at Novo Nordisk overseeing regulatory operations in Italy and Malta. Dr. Riccardi holds a degree in Chemistry from Sapienza University of Rome and has served as a lecturer since 2016 at ALMA LABORIS Business School and, recently, Rome Business school. Her industry expertise spans regulatory strategy, clinical compliance, and safety operations, with a focus on international coordination and stakeholder engagement. He currently serves as Commercial Quality Manager for Southern Europe at Reckitt, where he leads a cross-functional team in implementing GDP, GMP, and ISO standards across medicinal products, infant nutrition, and medical devices. Mr. Grussu holds an MBA in Economics from Bocconi University, along with advanced qualifications from LUISS University and the University of Cagliari. His industry career includes pivotal roles at Novo Nordisk in Quality, Supply Chain, and Business Controlling. Silvia Melandri Lawyer

Silvia Melandri is a legal consultant & Senior Lawyer expert and lecturer with over 25 years of professional experience in civil, commercial, and international law. She currently teaches International Business Law and related subjects. A graduate of LUISS Guido Carli University (Law, 1999), she earned her degree summa cum laude with a thesis in industrial law. Ms. Melandri has taught at the University of Tuscia as “Cultore della materia” and delivered specialized legal training for institutions including Banca Esperia and Ospedale Belcolle.​ Admitted to the legal profession in 2003, she has served as legal consultant and litigator for leading Italian firms and international clients such as Lloyd’s of London, Ralph Lauren, and SNAM Rete Gas, with expertise spanning insolvency, labor law, and international contracts. She is currently a consultant at Studio Traverso e Associati and Officinalex. Her publications address topics in liability insurance, unfair competition, and legal education. Ms. Melandri holds multiple certifications in European law, cybersecurity, and gender equality, and continues to advise public and private entities across diverse sectors (EASY FIND at the Court of Cassation, 2000 - Community Law, Order of Lawyers of Rome, 2000).

Sotirios Tsiafos - Tsiaras
Sotirios Tsiafos - Tsiaras Pharmacist & Healthcare Supply Chain Leader

Tsiafos - Tsiaras is a pharmacist and healthcare supply chain expert with over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical logistics, hospital operations, and digital transformation in healthcare systems. He currently serves as Director of the Pharmacy Department at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens and Guest Lecturer at Rome Business School. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Piraeus. His academic contributions include specialized teaching in pharmaceutical procurement, digital health logistics, and regulatory compliance for postgraduate healthcare professionals. Valentino Megale is a tech entrepreneur, biologist, and innovation advocate specializing in mental well-being through immersive technologies and data monitoring. He is the CEO and co-founder of Softcare Studios, a digital health startup that leverages advanced technologies to enhance medical treatments and support patients’ mental health. Valentino has over 7 years of professional experience in the digital health sector. He holds a PhD in Neuropharmacology from the "D’Annunzio" University of Chieti, with international experience in Austria and France. He is also an online lecturer in immersive technologies at the Web Marketing Festival and serves as Program Director and lecturer at Rome Business School. His academic background spans 6 years, focusing on neuropharmacology and biotechnology. Throughout his career, he has received several awards, including “Best E-Health Startup” at the Startup Europe Awards, and has taken part in international acceleration programs such as Accelerace and TMCx. The admission process is aimed to verify the candidate’s eligibility to attend the Master in  Pharma & Health Management. The candidate’s academic history, previous experiences in the topics covered in the Master and motivation will be matters of the evaluation. Once it’s sent, the application will be evaluated by the Rome Business School’s academic committee. In order to ensure the application’s suitability, it is important to deliver all of the required documentation.

Fee

Payment of the participation fee of €7,400 can be made in the following ways:

  • Installments from moments of enrollment (earlier enrollment for more installments)
  • Full Payment with an additional discount of -10%
