Throughout the workshop, Jaime Ozores, provided insights evolving talent landscape, the importance of networking and the shifting demands in recruitment.

Practical Tips for Students

Jaime provided students with actionable recommendations for excelling in their professional journeys. His advice for interviews was clear and practical:

  1. Prepare Thoroughly: Research the company, the role, and the industry to demonstrate genuine interest and knowledge.
  2. Be Yourself and Authentic: Employers value authenticity, so it’s important to showcase your true self, including your unique perspectives and experiences.
  3. Ask Questions: An interview is a two-way conversation. Asking insightful questions shows curiosity, engagement, and a desire to understand the role and company culture.

The Changing Talent Landscape: The Talent War

Jaime, an experienced headhunter, shared key observations about the current “talent war” reshaping industries. According to Jaime, companies no longer seek standard talent. The competition is fierce as organizations aim to bring only the best on board.

“All companies want to put the best talent on the market,” he emphasized.

This competition is further complicated by the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is transforming how recruitment is approached.

Jaime also highlighted the increasing importance of inclusivity, with a clear focus on gender diversity. He noted, revealing that 70% of O&B clients are actively seeking to hire women in leadership roles. This is a reflection of the growing emphasis on diverse leadership teams, which contribute to better decision-making and innovation.

Building Connections and Navigating the Recruitment Process

As a seasoned headhunter, Jaime emphasized the importance of building a solid professional network.

“Networking is crucial,” he advised.

He also gave valuable advice to students on approaching the recruitment process, stating that sending a CV through LinkedIn or a direct approach is not the best strategy. Instead, Jaime recommends using a more strategic approach, leveraging connections and building relationships over time.

Jaime Ozores’ session was an eye-opening experience for students, offering insights into the dynamic world of executive search, the growing emphasis on diversity, and the changing nature of work in the post-pandemic era.
