We are delighted to announce the partnership with Washington State University (WSU) to host an exciting and enriching MBA students study tour program in Rome and Tuscany. The collaboration between these esteemed institutions aims to provide students with a unique educational experience while exploring the business landscape and cultural heritage of Italy from today the 9th to the 16th of July 2023.
The study tour program offers an exceptional opportunity for the Online MBA students of Washington State University to engage with renowned companies and brands, fostering valuable connections in various industries. Participants will have the privilege of getting to know different professionals with prestigious organizations both on Roman and Tuscan soil: a perfect and balanced mix given by the combination of intensive lessons with cultural and company visits on site.
From Monday to Wednesday, the delegation of American students will enjoy various lessons on Made in Italy Business at RBS central campus in via Montanelli. Three different guest speakers will be sharing their insights and knowledge connected to the metropoly of Rome: Laura Lacanale for the United Nations – World Food Program, Simone Bellanova for Microsoft, and Andrea Mercuri for ERNO – Edicola Romana Non Ordinaria. In the afternoon, the various visits will frame the contents of the morning, retracing the history and legacy of the Roman Empire and the Roman Renaissance, passing from Piazza di Spagna to the Imperial Forums, culminating with the collection of the Vatican Museums and DOMVS by Bulgari in the quintessential “Dolce Vita” streets of Rome.
Leading the WSU MBA students study tour in Italy is Professor Dipra Jha, a distinguished academic and expert in the field. Professor Jha’s guidance and mentorship contribute significantly to the students’ learning experience and ensure a comprehensive understanding not only of the business environment in Italy, but also of the dynamics who had historically taken place between two important nations such as Italy and USA. It is precisely Professor Dipra who, together with the RBS Head of International Relations, Eleonora Mantovani, and the RBS Program Director of the Master in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Camilla Carrega Bertolini, built and designed this study tour program. An ultimate training course in presence aimed at celebrating the many academic successes of the past academic year: a class made of different professionals and experts who will conclude their Online MBA by meeting and networking together.
And it is precisely with Camilla Carrega Bertolini that the students delegation will leave for Tuscany in the second part of the week, by ending the second and last part of this extraordinary study tour with activities and contents closely related to tourism and hospitality. Not only a guided tour of Florentine beauties such as the Uffizi Gallery, but also a gastronomic immersion in the Val D’Orcia area with breath-taking stops in Montepulciano and Pienza. The local business reality will be excellently illustrated by the companies of La Fratta, an historical farm since 1208, and by Salcheto, an organic winery where the “Nonle Wine” is the protagonist of the same.
A special thanks goes to the real heart of the study tour, made up of moments of confrontation and discussion on the various topics addressed, mediated by esteemed Professors of the Rome Business School. Among the sessions: Nation Branding: the Application of the Italian Model Abroad with Professor Valerio Mancini; Fashion Business & the Made in Italy with Professor Michela Bonafoni; Leadership Models with Professor Antonio Scialletti; The Agrifood System with Professor Massimo Coppetti.
“I commend the active partnership of universities in the United States and their shared interests in Italy. This collaboration exemplifies the power of international alliances in creating transformative educational experiences and nurturing future global leaders”, commented Rome Business School Dean Prof. Antonio Ragusa, enthusiastic about this latest great collaboration that lands in our Eternal City.
This collaboration between Rome Business School and Washington State University highlights the potential of successful partnerships in the academic realm. RBS welcomes other business schools and universities to join us in Rome, further strengthening our global network and fostering meaningful exchanges between students and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
