Meet the students: discover their path and follow their advice!

Nicolò D., now Product Manager at Lapis Urbe

Nicolò D., student of the Executive Master in Marketing and Sales, told us about his motivation in starting an RBS Master, what he learned and what he achieved.

Tell about yourself, what is your pre, during and post master’s path that brought you to here today

After graduating as a surveyor in 2010, I later qualified as a freelancer. In 2013, at the age of 20, I start working in the Marble Industry as Production and Personnel Manager, in parallel, in 2019 I graduate in Civil Engineering.

In the 9 years spent in production I take note of some of my commercial skills and therefore decide, with extreme enthusiasm, to start a new path as a Commercial Manager at a new company also in the stone industry.

Enthusiastic about my first experiences in sales, in April 2022, I enroll in the Executive Master in Marketing & Sales at the Rome Business School in order to deepen and improve some important aspects of commerce that are fundamental for my professional growth.

What are the most important skills acquired at RBS, which ones you will have to work on the most and which ones to focus on that are fundamental in the world of work today

Among the topics covered, I think it is of extreme importance, as it is always too little addressed, Team Working, the ability to work in a team that we are honing right now with the Capstone, the final project of the Master’s program that sees us working in a group of 4 people on our Start Up ” TheCasaClub ” born this year during the RBS4E program.

I take this opportunity to suggest you to go and find us on our Instagram profile : “thecasaclub” to find out more about our project.

Why did you decide to join RBS, what did the master’s program give you in terms of skills, competencies, meetings with companies and experiences?

In RBS, I found an International, Young and Dynamic environment that reflects exactly what I was looking for when I chose the institution.

I was further conveyed, and I emphasize further because this is something that I have always believed to be fundamental, the importance of investing in relational capital, of focusing on the quality and care of relationships as the best means of creating trust towards interlocutors.

I think it is important, and in my case it was, the opportunity that students have to meet with the people working in the Career Service to be able to discuss and possibly clarify with them aspects related to their own career.

What do you want to focus on in your work experience today and what is your career goal?

My goal is to build myself a professional figure who is prepared as well as multifaceted, ready to respond to the challenges that the changing job market places before us today.

I consider myself a very motivated and stubborn person who has always tried, and will continue to do so, to combine study with work experiences that would allow me to develop skills in working independently also in a team, without losing sight of the competitive spirit that is indispensable in the world of work today.

Give 3 pieces of advice to your fellow students to get like you a career opportunity.

More than advice, my answer is my experience and these are the 3 main components that motivated me to undertake this Master’s program and feed me every day, in my life, in my work and in my research:

Enthusiasm, Motivation and a dash of healthy Romanticism, never stop dreaming and believing in your instincts !
