Over February and March RBS has hosted the CAB Workshops in the areas of Finance, HR, Operations & IT. During these meeting Mangers, CEOs and Professionals from leading companies share views and ideas on current challenges, future trends and how new technologies and are transforming companies. These precious insights help us understand the skills managers of the future must have and in turn help us shape our programs and train #BetterManagers4aBetterWorld.
Insights from the Human Resources Area: purpose, internal communication and diversity
The 1st CAB workshop was the one dedicated to the HR area. Emerging topics of discussion included:
- The Importance of Purpose-Driven Companies: in these employees feel they have an impact on society as a whole.
- Internal Communication: which is crucial to share a company’s mission and to achieve a sense of community.
- Not just Inclusion but Diversity: listening turns out to be the only tool needed in HR because you cannot talk about inclusion and attention to diversity without detailed listening with collaborative analysis tools.
Findings from the Finance Area: Soft Skills and Sustainable Finance
The 2nd CAB workshop was attended by our members of the Finance Area. Our guests discussed:
- Managerial Soft Skills: the CFO of the future will need both technical and managerial soft skills, such as people management and communication.
- Sustainable Finance: not only technicalities such as integrated reporting and ESG, but also the ability to be able to develop sustainable models, included the business model itself.
The Operations & IT workshop: Project Management, Data and AI
The 3rd CAB workshop was about the Operations and IT Area. Professionals mentioned:
- Real applications of technology: understand what is the value that data analytics such as AI brings to humans and society.
- Soft Skills & AI: We are increasingly headed into a Data Driven Society so it will be important to create soft skills and learn how to interrogate AI.
- Most in-demand figures in the near future are the Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Project Manager.
