The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme for Turkish Students
The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme supports Turkish students and professionals pursuing studies related to European Union topics in Europe.
This scholarship is valid exclusively for the following Master’s programmes:
Current Students: Individuals in their final year of studies are eligible to apply
Working Professionals: • Employees within the Turkish administration • Employees in the private sector
Master’s Program Requirements:
Field Alignment: The chosen Master’s program must be directly related to the applicant’s field of study or current work
Modality: The program has to be on campus
Scholarship Coverage:
Tuition Fees: Covers Master’s program costs up to a maximum of €22,000
Monthly Allowance: Provides a monthly living stipend, the amount of which varies depending on the host country
Additional Expenses: Includes coverage for visa/passport application fees and health insurance
Application Requirements:
Selection Criteria: Applicants are expected to demonstrate • High academic grades • Proficiency in English, among other potential requirements

Announcement of the new academic year's scholarship program
Application Submission: Candidates submit their online application form along with the required documents (transcripts, language proficiency certificate, etc.)
Eligibility Check: The applications are reviewed to ensure that candidates meet the basic eligibility criteria.
Written Examination: Eligible candidates are invited to take a written exam. This exam assesses the candidates’ knowledge of EU-related topics and their analytical and writing skills • The duration of the exam is usually around 3 hours and is conducted on paper • The evaluation criteria for the written exam typically include formal accuracy (grammar), completeness of answers, the quality of content related to EU matters and questions related to the field of study. A minimum of 60 points is requested to pass
Evaluation of the Written Exam: The written exam papers are evaluated, and candidates who achieve a certain threshold proceed to the next stage.
Interview: In some years or for certain categories of applicants, there might be an interview stage following the written exam. This allows the selection committee to further assess the candidates’ motivation, communication skills, and understanding of their chosen field of study in relation to the EU.
Final Selection: Based on the overall evaluation of the application documents and the written exam (and interview, if applicable), the scholarship recipients are selected.
Announcement of Results: Successful candidates are notified, usually via email and through announcements on the official website.
Scholarship agreements and preparations: Selected candidates finalize their scholarship agreements and make necessary arrangements for their studies in the EU member states.
Start of the academic year in the EU: Scholars typically commence their studies at their host universities in the European Union around September or October, depending on the specific academic calendar of the institution.
