International Master Online in Media and Entertainment Overview

The Master in Media and Entertainment is a graduate-level program designed to provide you with the technical knowledge, creative thinking abilities, and critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in the media and entertainment industry.

The curriculum combines both theoretical and practical components. In addition to other subjects, the courses focus on media studies, visual storytelling, and media law. Through collaborative projects, such as the Capstone Project and Practice Lab, you will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience.

Students spend 12 hours immersed in the Practice Lab, where theoretical concepts are put in practice and participants learn through experience. The Lab is run by managers from leading national or international companies in the sector/industry, who will examine different specialist knowledge, work on exercises and network, while sharing their experience and expertise with the students. The Lab is entirely run by the School’s Partner Companies and the activities included are specific for each Master program and goal.

Capstone Project

At the end of your educational experience, you will have the chance to prove your abilities by tackling a real business challenge. Use your talent to identify opportunities and create a truly innovative strategy.

You will present your Capstone Project to the Academic Committee composed of the Master’s Program Director, and (if applicable) a select group of industry experts and managers.

Valentina Lo Surdo is a highly accomplished and versatile professional, recognized for her significant contributions as a Broadcast & TV Presenter/Anchorwoman, alongside her expertise as a Music Coach, Public Speaking Trainer, and Music Critic. Based in Rome, Italy, her career is marked by a profound blend of media presence, musical acumen, and communication training. With an impressive 20-year tenure at Rai - Radiotelevisione Italiana S.p.A., where she has served as an Anchorwoman since June 2005, Valentina has demonstrated extensive capabilities as a broadcast speaker, concert planner, TV presenter, music critic, and musician.

Her experience extends beyond traditional broadcasting; she has been an Anchorwoman and Public Speaker since May 2012, and a Music Critic for Suonare News – La rivista il Mulino since 2002. Furthermore, Valentina has held representative roles for esteemed organizations such as the Keyboard Charitable Trust in Italy (since 2010) and Donatori di Musica in Rome (since 2010), and was the Owner of Mrs. Philharmonica from 2000 to 2012.

Academically, Valentina’s foundation is equally robust, including a Laurea in Pianoforte and a Master in Giornalismo e Critica Musicale from Rome. Her comprehensive educational background, encompassing classical studies from Liceo Classico Manara, underscores her deep understanding of both artistic and communicative disciplinest. This rich blend of practical industry experience and academic rigor positions her as a leading figure in the intersection of media, music, and communication.

Alexandra Solea Program Director of Master in Arts & Culture

Dr. Alexandra Solea is an accomplished academic and arts administrator with over 20 years of international experience in higher education, cultural management, and institutional leadership. She currently serves as Program Director and Professor at Rome Business School. Dr. Solea holds a Ph.D. in History and Analysis of Musical Cultures from “La Sapienza” University of Rome, complemented by multiple master’s degrees in music management, musicology, and cultural resource management from institutions in Italy and Romania. She also earned professional certificates from Harvard University and Imperial College London. With over 15 years of teaching experience at university level, Dr. Solea has held academic appointments at IULM Milan, the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and the University of Rome “Tor Vergata.” Her professional background spans senior leadership and entrepreneurial roles in arts administration, including CEO of SOLÈART Management and co-founder of Connexion Festival. She has collaborated with major international institutions such as the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, George Enescu Festival, Teatro La Fenice, and BOZAR Brussels. Dr. Solea’s accolades include fellowships from the European Music Council, Stiftung Mercator, and ASEF Singapore. Andrea Spagna Chief Strategy Officer @ Change the World Academy

Andrea Spagna is a senior strategic advisor and faculty member with over 20 years of professional experience in the media, television, and film production industries. He currently serves as Professor at Rome Business School, works as the General Strategic Advisor at the Associazione Diplomatici and as a Business Development Senior Advisor at Green Future Project. Mr. Spagna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in International Marketing from LUISS Guido Carli University. His academic experience includes university-level teaching and curriculum development in the fields of media, sustainability, and strategic communication. He has held executive and advisory roles at leading organizations including Sky Italia, Cinecittà S.p.A., and Daimler Chrysler, working across strategic marketing, business transformation, and ESG initiatives. Benedetta Baglioni is a senior executive producer and academic with over 20 years of professional experience in media production, spanning broadcast television, film, documentaries, and digital entertainment. She currently serves as LP Personal Producer at Gente Edizioni Musicali S.R.L, Executive producer at FremantleMedia Italia SPA and teaches at Rome Business School, where she contributes to the Master in Media & Entertainment with a focus on production practices and cross-sector integration. She holds a degree in Literature, Theatre, and Cinema (110/110) from Università degli Studi La Sapienza. Baglioni has over 8 years of teaching experience and has collaborated with leading production companies such as Publispei, INDIGO Stories, and LA7, overseeing award-winning formats and original content for major networks including Rai, MTV, and Discovery. Her expertise includes executive and line production, coordination of complex multi-platform projects, and development of original documentaries and scripted series. She has served as executive producer for acclaimed titles and contributed to pioneering formats in transmedia storytelling. Baglioni maintains strong ties to international film institutions and cultural organizations, including the Italian Cultural Institute in New York.

Carlo Rodomonti is a senior marketing executive and academic with over 23 years of professional experience in the media, film, and audiovisual sectors. He currently serves as Head of Marketing and Innovation at Rai Cinema, where he leads strategic initiatives integrating virtual reality, AI, and transmedia storytelling. He is also President of the Digital Editors and Creators Union at ANICA and serves on the Corporate Advisory Board of Rome Business School, where he also teaches. Rodomonti holds a degree in Political Science with a focus on Communication from the University of Bologna and a Master’s in Marketing and Communication from Master Publitalia. He has over 11 years of teaching experience at institutions including Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Scuola Holden, RCS Academy, 24ORE Business School and, naturally, Rome Business School, covering crossmedia, the metaverse, and emerging technologies in film. She is currently Co-Founder, Partner, and Managing Director of Rising Partners International, where she leads consulting projects in integrated marketing and communication, specializing in Web3, blockchain, and AI-driven innovation for media and entertainment clients.She holds a degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and Finance from John Cabot University. For over seven years, she taught Advertising Theory and Techniques at LUMSA University.Carolina has held senior positions at global companies such as Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, Y&R, and Saatchi & Saatchi. She has also founded and led her own agencies, working closely with international media and entertainment clients including Sky, Wind, and P&G. Costanza Spocci is a Senior Broadcast Journalist with over 15 years of professional experience in international reporting, documentary production, and audio storytelling. She currently serves as a Senior Broadcast journalist and radio host at RAI Radio 3, where she leads foreign affairs coverage and co-produces investigative radio programming. She holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Bologna and a Certificate of political studies from Sciences Po Lyon. Spocci has worked extensively across the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Europe, contributing to leading media organizations including the BBC, NPR, Al Jazeera, and RSI. Her portfolio includes award-nominated radio documentaries, geopolitical analyses, and investigative podcasts produced in collaboration with institutions such as Fondazione Feltrinelli and IRPI Media. She has also worked as a consultant and field manager for INTERSOS and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Spocci is certified in hostile environment safety (SSAFE) and proposal writing by RedR.

Edgardo Altieri Qualified lawyer

Edgardo Altieri is a qualified attorney with over 13 years of professional experience specializing in Intellectual Property, Copyright, and Entertainment Law. He is currently a faculty member at Rome Business School and Roma Film Academy, where he teaches courses in Intellectual Property, Copyright, and Media Law within. Admitted to the Italian Bar in 2012, Altieri holds an LL.M. in Entertainment Law from the University of Westminster and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law from LUISS Guido Carli University. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Altieri is the founder of A/C Studio Legale, where he advises clients across the media, fashion, advertising, and technology sectors on matters ranging from copyright and trademark protection to corporate transactions and privacy compliance. He serves on the advisory board of Premio Solinas and has worked with leading entities such as Rai Cinema. His work is supported by certifications in legal and international practice.

Fasano holds a degree in Music Marketing from LUISS Guido Carli University. His industry career includes key roles at Universal Music Italy, BBC, Digital Magics, and Universo Spa, with a focus on rights management, music publishing, synchronization, and promotion. Oswald Garms International Coordinator at Notorious Pictures Spa

Oswald Garms is a film producer and international media consultant with over 20 years of professional experience in audiovisual production, post-production, and European co-productions. He currently teaches Film and TV Production at the Roma Film Academy (since 2017) and the Rome Business School (since 2023), where he mentors students in production planning, financing, and cross-border collaboration. Garms holds a degree in Anthropology, Oriental History, and Languages from the University of Bologna, with further training in screenwriting and film production from Raindance Film School (London) and the EU MEDIA Programme (EAVE, 2010). He began his career as an editor for RAI and later spent a decade at Bavaria Media Italia, where he oversaw format adaptation, international sales, and production of both TV and theatrical titles. As an independent producer, he has developed and financed numerous international co-productions, including “Mozzarella Stories”, “Rafaël”, and “Porcelain”. He has secured and managed major public funding at European and national levels, and has served as a consultant for companies such as Final Cut for Reel and Samsa Film. His editorial work includes the Genova Film Festival-winning short “La paura del portiere al calcio di rigore”. Paolo Bigazzi Alderigi is a transmedia producer, music publisher, and interactive media specialist with over 25 years of professional experience in the music, audiovisual, and digital content industries. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer at SAE Institute Milan, apart from serving as a Label Manager at ONDE Electronic contents. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Rome Business School (2023), a Master of Arts in Creative Media Practice from SAE Institute (2017), and a Diploma in Audio Engineering (2000). Since 2011, he has led Iter-Research, a Milan-based music and transmedia publishing company, he co-owns the music producer label LEBfilm Media and is Co-Founder of the Komplex Live Cinema Group, dedicated to immersive storytelling and AR/VR performance. A member of international organizations such as IMPF, IIDEA, and ANICA, he has produced and published content for film, video games, and interactive experiences globally. His work has been presented across international festivals and platforms, reflecting a commitment to creative innovation and media convergence.

Raffaele Passerini Program Director of Master in Media & Entertainment

Raffaele Passerini brings extensive professional experience in filmmaking, media development, and arts education. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Leadership, Curriculum, and Instruction at Westcliff University. He also holds a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Teesside University, along with advanced certificates in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy and in Television Writing from UCLA Extension. With over a decade of university-level teaching experience—including roles at Rome Business School, Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA), and Roma Film Academy—Passerini combines academic rigor with practical expertise as a writer, director, and producer. His contributions span international media projects, including collaborations with RAI and ARTE, as well as production roles with institutions such as the New York City Department of Education, UNDP, and Oikos Films, LLC. Among his notable achievements are leadership roles in academic programs, original podcast creation, and the executive production of documentaries and capacity-building campaigns.

Valerio Mirabella Music Supervisor

Valerio Mirabella is a music supervisor, radio producer, and curator with over 15 years of professional experience in the film, music, and broadcasting industries. He currently serves as co-founder and general manager of The Roost, an independent digital radio platform, and is the artistic director and co-founder of Porto Records and Rome Psych Fest, a music and arts festival based in Rome. He holds a Laurea Specialistica in Performing Arts (Spettacolo) from La Sapienza University of Rome (2007). As a music supervisor, he has collaborated with leading production companies including Lotus Production, Leone Film Group, and Fandango, contributing to projects such as Il Sol dell’Avvenire (Nanni Moretti), I Leoni di Sicilia (Disney), and Tutto Chiede Salvezza (Netflix). Mirabella’s industry expertise spans radio programming, live event direction, and publishing consultancy, with notable contributions in both European and U.S. markets.

Giovanni Guardi Music Supervisor

Born in 1970, he is one of the first music supervisors in Italy. He holds a degree in Economics and Business from LUISS University in Rome, with a thesis focused on marketing in the film industry, and earned a diploma in EMAM (European Master in Audiovisual Management). Since 1998, he has been working with Fandango as a music consultant and soundtrack producer. He has also collaborated with some of the most important production companies in Italy, including Lotus, Tempesta, Indiana, Greenboo, and Picomedia, and has worked on films and original series for platforms such as Sky, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+. For several years, he has been teaching at the CSC LAB workshops of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, and he currently teaches Music Supervision in the International Master in Media and Entertainment at Rome Business School.

Payment of the participation fee of € 7,400 can be made in the following ways:
