The Online Learning Methodology
Adhering to the highest standards of teaching methodology provided by EFMD, the Master is taught through interactive lectures, case study analyses, exercises, discussions, teamwork exercises, video conferences, business analysis and sessions of student presentations. Students are encouraged to read and engage in discussions and debates. The teaching methodology is based on learning by doing, with lecturers implementing a student-centered approach, getting students involved and providing activities that allow students to apply the knowledge acquired. The Online Methodology consists of live, interactive lectures, led and facilitated by professors. The programs are self-paced, as students take pre-master courses at their own speed and using self-assessment exercises. This practical, applicable methodology consists of synchronous and asynchronous activities.
Students are free to learn at their own pace and define personal learning paths based on their individual needs and interests, as well as the content provided, taking into account the deadlines for learning, evaluation and assessments. The self-paced methodology is applied on the pre-master courses, which are based on pre-recorded interactive sessions led by the lecturer professor, with a PPT presentation, exercises and self-assessment for each course. Students study the material at their own pace and do a self-assessment exercise to track their progress.
PROFESSOR-LED AND FACILITATED
The online learning methodology is fully professor-led and facilitated live in real time. Every lecture is created and delivered by a lecturer using our online platform Blackboard. The communication tools used by the lecturers include discussion forums, chats, emails, breakout sessions, whiteboards, and audio and video sharing to communicate and work together. As a final step, sessions usually include an exercise or assessment to measure the learning.

The online methodology in every class is live and interactive. Teaching methods and techniques are used creatively to develop an engaging and motivating learning experience. There is frequent interaction with the student interaction to foster and maintain engagement and promote learning.
PRACTICAL & APPLICABLE
The online learning methodology is practical, with all the class activities and online learning methods, e-content and materials used also being put into practice in the different assessments (self-assessments, tests and practical assignments), capstone project and class activities.
SYNCHRONOUS AND ASYNCHRONOUS ACTIVITIES
The online methodology is structured as a combination of synchronous or real-time activities (such as online platform chats, breakout rooms/sessions, virtual pooling, virtual whiteboard, etc.) and asynchronous or on-demand activities, which students can do whenever suits them best in terms of their preferences and other commitments (such as emails, discussion forum platforms, online platform meetings, recorded lectures via links, virtual coffee and conversation sessions, etc.)

Practice Lab | In partnership with
Rome Business School Practice Lab is the place where theoretical concepts are put in practice and participants learn through experience. The Lab is run by managers from leading national or international companies in the sector/industry, who will examine different specialist knowledge, work on exercises and network, while sharing their experience and expertise with the students. The Lab is entirely run by the School’s Partner Companies and the activities included are specific for each Master program and goal.
The Practice Lab consists of 3 main phases:
Phase 1 | Manager Meet-Ups
Students meet two managers from the Partner Company, from different areas or divisions, such as finance and marketing, who share their experience of their day-to-day work and business, with a specific and relevant focus for the Master.
Phase 2 | Hands-on Class
Students gain first-hand insight from the direct experience of company managers, enhancing the knowledge and skillset acquired on the Master. They will analyze, assess, create and develop, a certain plan or strategy given by the company in relation to what they have studied in class and the company’s business operations.
Phase 3 | Get on Task
The company managers present two in-class business scenarios (business cases), so that, by implementing the concepts learned, the students find solutions and create strategies. At the end of the class, they orally present the final results and ideas.
At the end of your educational experience, you will have the chance to prove your abilities by tackling a real business challenge. Use your talent to identify opportunities and create a truly innovative strategy. Work on one of two real Business Challenges of a specific company. Choose between a Business Plan, or a Marketingplan.

His long career has specialized in the field of ICT, starting as a system engineer (1974). Later (1987), he was appointed as the Technical Area Manager and eventually Project Manager, leading small to large projects. In 1999, he gained his PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification from the PMI® (Project Management Institute), and he is currently member of the PMI® and of the Rome Italian Chapter. He teaches Project Management and has a Bachelor Degree in Education Sciences.
Stefano Orfei MBA is a Project Management Professional (PMP® Professional in Business Analysis (PMI PBA®) and a member of the PMI® Rome Italian Chapter. He started his professional career in the field of marketing and, since 1998, he has specialized in consultancy and management training. Over the last 13 years, he has been involved in training projects at both a national and international level. He has been a Project Manager in a large a consulting organization (Telecom Italia Learning Services), and in charge of designing and delivering complex training projects.
Senior Project Manager with more than 10 years’ experience in planning, management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of large-scale international development projects, with extensive knowledge of with EU Instrument Pre-Acquis (IPA); European Development Fund (EDF); European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instruments (ENPI) procedures. He is currently a senior project manager at AGROTEC SpA. His area of expertise is Business Development supporting governmental institutions in the implementation of development programs by providing technical assistance and scientific and analytical equipment, specializing in consultancy services for participating in international bids and tenders (EuropeAid and the World Bank
IT Program Manager, specializing in large-scale global program in the sectors of Consumer Goods, Government. Waterfall approach applied to infrastructure and end-user computing projects, as well as Agile approaches, Scrum, DevOps, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Improvement / Continuous Development, which he has applied for Software Development projects. Viviane is PMI Certified and also has extensive experience in setting up Program and Project Management Offices (PMOs). She has also worked for DXC Technology and HEWLETT PACKARD.
Antonio is a senior advisor to European Companies for internationalization to China/Asia and to Chinese state-owned enterprises (for investments, M&A, JV for strategic acquisitions into Europe). He also has extensive experience in supporting business development for other EU markets, as well as monitoring industrial commercial companies reporting to European headquarters. He also has experience as an Executive Director at GEA International, as a General Manager at William George Asia Ltd, as a Managing Director at William George Europe SR.
He has spent his entire professional career developing and managing innovative and high-tech projects in two main industries: Information Technology and Healthcare. Francesco has held several Sales Marketing management positions in multinational companies such as Microsoft, IBM and Baxter. As a Managing/Senior Director, he ran innovative entrepreneurial projects for startups and small enterprises (Net for Care, Privatassistenza, Telbios). He is now a Senior Partner at Arventia Capital, a firm specializing in private equity and venture capital investments. Francesco has a Master in Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor Degree (cum laude) in Economics from LUISS University.
Over 26 years’ experience as an Export Manager, Entrepreneur and Project Manager. In 2005, he co-founded Comtaste SRL, an IT consulting company of which is still the CEO, mainly taking on strategic projects for the company and directly managing key clients, which include several multinational companies, such as Adobe, Google and HP. In 2019, he founded TS Mood SRL, an innovative startup specializing in online booking services for the tourism industry. He has a Master with honors in Economics and Business from the University La Sapienza, Rome. He is also PMP® Certified.
Angelo Cauceglia MBA is a project manager with significant working experience in the Middle East and South America. Over the past few years, he had the chance to develop a deep understanding and remarkable results in large-scale organizations dealing with complex multicultural environments. He has worked as Project Configuration Manager at Astaldi S.p.A. He also worked for Manens-Tifs S.p.A. –Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the Project Control Officer.

She has worked for Deliradio.it, Gecko Way SRL, Beelnclusion.com, Pop Up Live Sessions, MM Line Production records, Perilcane.it, and Vikschool. A graduate in Italian Literature and Mass Media Communication, she has extensive experience in a logistics company (2008-2013). She worked for the first Roman online radio station as a Digital Press Officer. She specializes in Digital Transformation for SMEs.
A native of Miami, Florida, Marshall received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has also done extensive graduate coursework in counselling psychology at New York University. Marshall enjoyed a 12-year career in diverse business and finance sectors in the US and Europe. He has worked on Wall Street in investment banking and risk arbitrage for firms like Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, as well as trading for BNP Paribas. He also worked in the areas of corporate management, marketing strategy, management consulting, and real estate.
