Rome Business School Practice Lab is the place where theoretical concepts are put in practice and participants learn through experience. Umberto Macchi ​

Umberto Macchi di Cellere is an accomplished executive with over 30 years of global leadership experience, including two decades in the fashion and luxury industry within Bulgari, part of the LVMH Group, and theTod’s Group.

He currently serves as Operating Partner at VAM Investments, a private equity firm, and is the Prgoram Director of the Master in Fashion&Luxury management at Rome Business School. He holds a degree in Economics from Sapienza University of Rome, with a focus on marketing and business development. Macchi di Cellere was Group CEO of Tod’s, overseeing 5,000 employees and 400+ boutiques worldwide, and previously held senior leadership roles at Bulgari/LVMH, directing global operations in jewelry, watches, leather goods, and fragrances.

He has served on the boards of listed companies, including Tod’s and Bulgari, and is recognized for his strategic expertise in brand transformation, retail innovation, and supply chain modernization across markets in Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.

Alessandra Del Cogliano Online Buyer & Merchandising Moschino.com

Alessandra Del Cogliano is an accomplished e-commerce and merchandising professional with a professional experience in luxury fashion and digital retail. She currently serves as Online Buyer & Merchandiser at Moschino S.p.A., Milan, where she leads cross-category buying strategy, performance analysis, and digital merchandising for Moschino.com. Prior to this role, she held key positions at Showroomprivé Group, specializing in flash sales and e-commerce analytics. She holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing Management from Bocconi University, Milan, with a thesis focused on customer e-satisfaction in fashion e-commerce, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tor Vergata, Rome, graduating with top honors. Her academic foundation is further supported by applied research at Bocconi’s CERMES center and collaborative projects with leading global firms including P&G, Colgate-Palmolive, and Sorgenia. Del Cogliano has been recognized with multiple awards, including the “Out of the Box” prize by Colgate-Palmolive. Her work reflects a consistent commitment to data-driven strategy, innovation in digital retail, and cross-functional collaboration within global fashion ecosystems.

DAVIDE ROGAI
Davide Rogai CSMO & Co-founder at Commit Software

Davide Rogai is a software engineering executive and academic with over 20 years of experience spanning research and development, marketing, enterprise IT, and higher education. He is founder, Board of Administration and CEO of Commi.it s.r.l, and currently serves as President of Confindustria Albania and Administrator at Commit Software Sh.p.k. and Dilaxia Nova, leading cross-border innovation initiatives in the IT sector. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer and Software Engineering from the University of Florence, where he also earned his Master’s degree. He has been teaching at the university level since 2002. His courses have included Computer Science Fundamentals and supervising EC-funded research in multimedia standards. Dr. Rogai has extensive industry expertise in software architecture, mobile development, and enterprise systems, with a specialization in custom solutions and multi-platform environments. His corporate roles have included CEO, marketing & sales Director, and Internationalization Lead, with collaborations across Italy and Albania.

Derrick Jones Founder Derrick Jones Studio

Derrick Jones is a creative director and educator with over 25 years of professional experience in fashion retail, visual merchandising, and brand development. Jones is the Founder of Derrick Jones Studio, a multidisciplinary showroom based in Rome dedicated to artisan brands and curated retail experiences. His extensive industry background includes 14 years at Burberry, where he served as Visual Merchandising Manager across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa, contributing to global training initiatives and VM standards. He has consulted internationally on branding, store design, and retail strategy, with clients ranging from luxury retailers to independent design spaces. Educated in Business Administration at Miami Dade College, Jones combines strategic insight with creative execution. His work has been featured in multiple design projects and publications, including Craft Matters and Naked Rome Project.

Fabio Sisti ​ Visual Merchandiser

Fabio Sisti is a multidisciplinary visual communication expert and educator with over 18 years of professional experience in visual merchandising, branding, and digital arts. His teaching experience also extends to music production at Ableton, where he teaches electronic music production. Sisti has held key visual merchandising roles at H&M, 7Camicie, and Kruder, managing international retail setups across South Africa, Asia, and the Americas. He has also worked as a creative consultant and graphic designer for fashion and art spaces, contributing to branding, event design, and multimedia installations. His creative achievements include original soundtracks for film and television (Kaspar Hauser, CSI: NY, SKAM), and music for fashion shows at AltaRoma, collaborating with designers such as Greta Boldini and Marianna Cimini.

Flavia Muzi Falconi Independent Business Owner

Flavia started her career as a Senior Account Executive at Saatchi & Saatchi Italy. Then she entered the team of Bulgari, where she worked for 10 years first as Marketing Communication Specialist, then as External Relations Manager. Subsequently, she started working as a Lecturer in various institutes: she was Professor of Luxury Marketing Management at IED, then Professor of Luxury Management at Swiss School of Management and finally Professor of "Made in italy, a culture of excellence" at Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici. For 17 years she has also been Independent Consultant in Strategic Marketing, Communication & Event Management for Luxury Companies and Independent Business Owner at Mycupoftea SRL.

FRANCESCA BRACCI
Francesca Bracci Staff Trainer for Luxury Hospitality Hotels

Francesca Bracci is a trainer and lecturer with over 20 years of professional experience across the luxury, hospitality, and education sector. She teaches Fashion and Luxury Marketing, Customer Experience, and Communication Strategies in various master's programs. Holding a degree in Sociology with a major in Communication from La Sapienza University, she integrates academic insight with practical expertise developed through international event planning and staff training for global luxury brands including Fendi, Bulgari, and Marriott. Her work has involved strategic planning for governmental institutions and executive leadership coaching in multicultural contexts. She is certified in Leadership and Communication (Berlin, 2019) and brings a holistic, emotionally intelligent approach to professional development.

Michela Bonafoni Program Director of Master in Fashion Management

Michela Bonafoni is a communications and fashion marketing expert with over 15 years of professional experience in corporate communications, fashion trend research, and academic leaderships. She currently teaches at institutions including IED (Rome and Milan), IUAV Venice, and Unicollege SSML. Bonafoni holds a Master’s degree in Fashion Marketing & Communication from Central Saint Martin's College and a degree in Fashion Economics from La Sapienza University. Her industry background includes roles as PR Manager at Malloni and Trend Researcher for Wella and MITU'. She has led inclusion-focused initiatives through Radio Incontro Donna and has founded the consultancy 360+OneQuarter. He is currently the Program Coordinator of the Master in fashion Design and Management.

Silvia Melandri Lawyer

Silvia Melandri is a legal consultant & Senior Lawyer expert and lecturer with over 25 years of professional experience in civil, commercial, and international law. She currently teaches International Business Law and related subjects. A graduate of LUISS Guido Carli University (Law, 1999), she earned her degree summa cum laude with a thesis in industrial law. Ms. Melandri has taught at the University of Tuscia as “Cultore della materia” and delivered specialized legal training for institutions including Banca Esperia and Ospedale Belcolle.​ Admitted to the legal profession in 2003, she has served as legal consultant and litigator for leading Italian firms and international clients such as Lloyd’s of London, Ralph Lauren, and SNAM Rete Gas, with expertise spanning insolvency, labor law, and international contracts. She is currently a consultant at Studio Traverso e Associati and Officinalex. Her publications address topics in liability insurance, unfair competition, and legal education. Ms. Melandri holds multiple certifications in European law, cybersecurity, and gender equality, and continues to advise public and private entities across diverse sectors (EASY FIND at the Court of Cassation, 2000 - Community Law, Order of Lawyers of Rome, 2000).

VERONICA BOSCHI
Veronica Boschi Wholesale Area Manager Central and East Europe at Salvatore Ferragamo spa

Veronica Boschi is a retail management professional with over 15 years of experience in the luxury fashion sector. She currently serves as Retail Manager at Doppelgänger Roma and as a professor at the Rome Business School. Boschi holds a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Siena and completed additional studies in English and American Literature and Culture at the University of Kent. Her industry experience includes senior roles such as Wholesale Area Manager for Salvatore Ferragamo, overseeing markets in Central and Eastern Europe, and Retail Coordinator for Max Mara Fashion Group’s Pennyblack brand. Her expertise spans retail operations, sales management, staff training, and visual merchandising. Boschi’s professional background is complemented by a deep understanding of international markets and cross-cultural communication. She contributes to academic initiatives focused on retail strategy and customer relationship management within global luxury contexts.

The Flexon Learning Methodology

Adhering to the highest standards of teaching methodology provided by EFMD, the Master is taught through interactive lectures, case study analyses, exercises, discussions, teamwork exercises, video conferences, business analysis and sessions of student presentations. Students are encouraged to read and engage in discussions and debates. The teaching methodology is based on learning by doing, with lecturers implementing a student-centered approach, getting students involved and providing activities that allow students to apply the knowledge acquired. The Online Methodology consists of live, interactive lectures, led and facilitated by professors. The programs are self-paced, as students take pre-master courses at their own speed and using self-assessment exercises. This practical, applicable methodology consists of synchronous and asynchronous activities.

Students are free to learn at their own pace and define personal learning paths based on their individual needs and interests, as well as the content provided, taking into account the deadlines for learning, evaluation and assessments. The self-paced methodology is applied on the pre-master courses, which are based on pre-recorded interactive sessions led by the lecturer professor, with a PPT presentation, exercises and self-assessment for each course. Students study the material at their own pace and do a self-assessment exercise to track their progress.

The online learning methodology is fully professor-led and facilitated live in real time. Every lecture is created and delivered by a lecturer using our online platform Blackboard. The communication tools used by the lecturers include discussion forums, chats, emails, breakout sessions, whiteboards, and audio and video sharing to communicate and work together. As a final step, sessions usually include an exercise or assessment to measure the learning.

The online methodology in every class is live and interactive. Teaching methods and techniques are used creatively to develop an engaging and motivating learning experience. There is frequent interaction with the student interaction to foster and maintain engagement and promote learning.

The online learning methodology is practical, with all the class activities and online learning methods, e-content and materials used also being put into practice in the different assessments (self-assessments, tests and practical assignments), capstone project and class activities.

The candidate’s academic history, previous experiences in the topics covered in the Master and motivation will be matters of the evaluation. Once it’s sent, the application will be evaluated by the Rome Business School’s academic committee.
