He is a Chartered Accountant, University Lecturer, and Consultant with a robust academic and professional background. He holds a PhD in Economy and Finance for Business from La Sapienza University and an MBA with final distinction from the University of Buckingham (UK). Additionally, he has obtained various executive courses from top institutions such as SDA Bocconi and University of Milan and a Master in Project Management. He is currently the Director of the Executive Master in Finance and Financial Markets at Rome Business School (2023-Present), and an Adjunct Professor at multiple universities.. In 2010, he founded Studio Mazzotta, a financial consulting firm that specializes in Corporate Finance, Business Valuation, Project Management, and Grant Management for both enterprises and public bodies. He currently serves as MBA Program Director and Strategy Professor at Rome Business School since 2019, where he leads business strategy courses. . Additionally, he is Strategy Director & Project Leader for the LIFE Project at SBS Group in Varese, Italy, focusing on international business development and sustainable projects. Mr. Scialletti’s career includes leadership roles such as CEO of GEA International in Shanghai and General Manager at William George Asia Ltd. He received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has additionally taken extensive graduate coursework in Counseling Psychology at New York University. Marshall enjoyed a 12-year career in diverse business and finance sectors in the U.S. and Europe. He has worked on Wall Street on investment banking and risk arbitrage for firms like Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as well as in trading for BNP Paribas. He further worked in the areas of corporate management, marketing strategy, management consulting, and real estate and he is also a Trained Group Counselor. Marshall has also taught at New York University’s Stern School of Business, Fordham University, University of Connecticut, Luiss University, and The American University of Rome. Andrea Micangeli Regional Director at the National Academy of Engineering

Andrea Micangeli, Ph.D., has over 30 years of experience in the field of renewable energy and international cooperation. He is currently an Associate Professor at the State University of New York and a lecturer at Sapienza University of Rome, where he has been teaching since 2001.He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering, focusing on appropriate technologies for renewable energy in developing countries, from Sapienza, where he also completed his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. His academic research focuses on both simple and complex renewable energy systems.Dr. Micangeli has over twenty years of international academic experience, with appointments at Columbia University, Oxford, Cambridge, and several universities in Latin America and Africa. He is the coordinator of the FS4MGO research group and serves as the European focal point for the Grand Challenges Scholars Program, promoted by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.He has authored more than 100 scientific publications, supervised 10 Ph.D. dissertations, and collaborated extensively with industrial partners and international institutions including Enel, RES4Africa, MIT, and UNIDO.In 2018, he received recognition for innovation in university teaching, particularly for his course “Field Study Abroad”, which has involved over 400 students in fieldwork across 80 rural development projects. Prior to establishing his firm, he worked for a New York-based consultancy within the Complex Valuation and Litigation Finance department. His diverse professional background includes experience as a Hedge Fund Analyst, focusing on restructurings and workouts; a Chief Financial Officer (CFO); a university professor; and a consultant in project finance. Furthermore, he has authored several articles for the financial platform Seeking Alpha. Alessandro holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Business Administration. Dr Min Prasad Bhandari Lecturer in Digital Marketing at Teesside University

Dr Min Prasad Bhandari is a Lecturer in Digital Marketing at Teesside University. He obtained his PhD from Abertay University, Scotland. He also has a master’s in business administration from the University of Wales, Lampeter and an MA in English, from Tribhuvan University. Before joining TUIBS, he worked as a Lecturer in Business Management at the University of Essex, UK. He also has more than ten years of teaching experience in Nepal before moving to academia in the UK. His research interests have revolved around the broad area of Marketing, Digital relationship marketing, and Entrepreneur marketing. His work thereby includes the pursuit of determinants of consumer behaviours, for example, consumer engagement and brand evangelism, drawn from a diverse set of psychology, sociology, and marketing theories. His work has been published and under review in journals such as IJEBR(3*), Journal of Product and Brand Management, Journal of the International Council for Small Business and Marketing Intelligence & Planning. Beverly Rutter BA (Hons), PGDip Enterprise Management, PGCert Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, CIMA.

An experienced and qualified senior lecturer, with over ten years of expertise in teaching Accounting, Finance, and Business Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. With a highly applied approach to teaching, drawing on over twenty years of professional experience within blue-chip PLCs and the public sector as a qualified management accountant (CIMA), they bring real-world knowledge into the classroom. Currently serving as the Course Leader for the Accounting and Finance BSc (Hons) programme at Teesside University, they have previously held leadership roles in various modules and have managed international recruitment and placement coordination. Their passion lies in management accounting, and they aim to bring topics to life both in the classroom and online. Known for a lively and engaging teaching style, their specialist interests include enhancing the student experience and achievement, both inside and outside the learning environment. This includes supporting international students and those balancing study with work and home commitments.

Dr Layal Isskandarani Lecturer in Economics at Teesside University

Dr Layal Isskandarani is a Lecturer in Economics at Teesside University since May 2024, and the course leader for BSc (Hons) Business Economics since January 2025. She has a Fellowship and an External Examiner certificate from the Advance HE. Prior to this, Layal has worked as the Coordinator for the Postgraduate Programmes at the School of Management and Economics of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr, (September- April 2024), and as the Chair of the Department of Finance (2017-2021) in parallel to being a Coordinator of Economics and Statistics subject areas (2017-2023) at the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) in Lebanon. Dr Isskandarani has worked as a Lecturer in Economics, Finance, Strategic Management, and Statistics subject areas in the HE sector for over a decade. She also delivered sessions on Finance in Poland and Spain as a visiting Lecturer. During 2013-2023, Dr Isskandarani taught Level 4-7 Economics, Finance, and Business Management modules of the Cardiff School of Management (UK) at MUBS. Layal Isskandarani holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree (Specialisation: International Trade in Education Services) from the University of Staffordshire (UK) and is greatly interested in the areas of Economics, Finance, and International Business. This module aims to introduce students to the fundamental economic concepts, theories, and analytical methods required to understand economic behavior, structures, and policies within modern economic systems.

Students will develop essential knowledge and skills that form the foundation for the study of intermediate and advanced economic theories.

Module 2 | Quantitative Methods in Economics and Business | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

Economics is both an academic and highly practical discipline, grounded in the approach of the natural sciences; for this reason, quantitative methods—namely mathematics and statistics—play a fundamental role in research and problem-solving. This module introduces students to the core quantitative methods and allows them to review essential numerical skills, developing them into the mathematical and statistical tools required for economics and business.

Module 3 | The Future of Work | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

Technology in the workplace is evolving rapidly, with organizations increasingly leveraging it to develop more efficient business models. This module introduces students to emerging technologies and new approaches shaping the modern work environment. Students will examine how these technologies are transforming business practices and will be encouraged to identify potential opportunities for the future.

They will also explore the shifting cultures and attitudes within workplace environments and how these are developing over time.

Module 4 | Enterprise and Business | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

This module introduces students to the circular economy and the business opportunities it presents. Learners will be encouraged to develop their own entrepreneurial idea and create a venture with social impact that contributes to the circular economy. Students will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design and will be introduced to the most current and appropriate digital tools to help them design an app for their business concept.

Module 1 | Economic Theory and Applications | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

The aim of this module is to introduce intermediate-level economic concepts, theories, and analytical methods used to understand economic behavior, structure, and decision-making at both aggregate and individual levels.

Upon successful completion of this module, students will deepen their understanding of economic principles and theoretical methods, systematically apply economic theory to national and international economic issues, and develop a range of analytical and study skills, including critical reflection, mathematical analysis, and graphical interpretation.

Module 2 | Digital Marketing in Practice | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

This module enables students to develop an understanding of mathematical reasoning in economics. The techniques covered provide learners with the skills required to formulate economic interpretations and formal arguments based on real-world data.

The module also aims to strengthen students’ competencies and understanding of a selection of statistical techniques that form part of an economist’s essential toolkit for analysing quantitative models and data.

Module 3 | Applied Mathematics and Statistics for Economists | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

The aim of this module is to enable students to develop a digital marketing strategy for an organisation of their choice. Students will gain an understanding of the professional skills and qualities required to work on a digital marketing project. They will identify the target audience and digital channels, define digital objectives, design the customer journey, and create a website.

This module allows students to evaluate how an organisation can deliver an effective online customer experience and understand the importance of a digital presence in supporting branding and customer service goals. Four key stages will be explored: analysing customer needs, designing the structure and layout of the website, and developing the final site.

Module 4 | Consultancy in Practice | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

This module balances theory and practice, enabling students to directly apply their learning to a real business. Working in small groups with a local company, students collaborate on a live consultancy project. Together, they define the problem, conduct a macro-environmental analysis, and present the organisation with recommendations for potential solutions.

The module provides students with the opportunity to explore a business and examine concepts related to organisational behaviour as well as broader managerial approaches to business development. Through active engagement with the company, students will analyse relevant theoretical concepts, analytical techniques, and business development practices, applying theory and knowledge in a real-world context.

Module 1 | Reimagining the Future of Business and Society | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

This module explores the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and invites students to examine the utopian opportunities that could emerge if these goals are achieved, as well as the dystopian outcomes that may arise if they remain unmet.

Students are encouraged to understand the global impact of these goals through a systems-thinking perspective. They will have the opportunity to analyse global challenges and propose their own solutions. Assessment for this module includes the development of a portfolio of work, along with individual and group problem-solving exercises.

Module 2 | Economic Themes for Managerial Decision-Making and Strategy | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

This module applies economic analysis to understand the rationale and impact of companies’ strategic choices on their performance and market positioning. It offers students the opportunity to learn about and become familiar with the key characteristics of financial instruments and trading practices. It explores the broader economic context in which the financial services sector operates and analyses how economic activity is shaped and managed across different economic and political systems. Module 4 | Independent Project | 15 ECTS / 30 UK Credits

The aim of this module is to foster independent learning and research among final-year students by requiring them to undertake and present a substantial independent research project. This must be carried out through a systematic analysis of the chosen subject area, integrating a wide range of knowledge acquired throughout the programme.

Students will be expected to design a project using appropriate research methods to address current, relevant issues within their field of study. The project will be completed and written individually and will culminate in a coherent and effective analysis and evaluation, presented in an appropriate academic format. In addition, students will be required to critically assess their own personal development throughout the research process and reflect on strategies for further personal growth.

Skills Development Programs

During their first year, students have the opportunity to enroll in two valuable optional skills development programs: the Leadership Program and the InsightX Program. While participation is optional, these programs significantly enrich students’ CVs and provide a competitive advantage for their future careers.

Each program is structured into three progressive levels: Level 1 is completed in the first year, Level 2 in the second year, and Level 3 in the third year. At the end of each level, students may choose whether to continue to the next level in the following academic year.

Both programs are designed to provide students with a blend of leadership skills and technical competencies, ensuring thorough preparation for the demands of the modern workplace. The admission process is aimed to verify the candidate’s eligibility to attend the Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing. The candidate’s academic history, previous experiences in the topics covered in the Bachelor, proficiency in the English language and motivation will be matters of the evaluation.
