Caterina Banella

For over ten years, Caterina Banella was member of the board of directors and Customer Account Manager with Hill and Knowlton Gaia (now hkstrategies Rome), a company specialising in sustainability and corporate social responsibility communication for the WPP multinational group. Within the company, she held, among others, the positions of Chief Press Officer, Practice Marketing Communication Manager and International Clients Manager.She presently works as a freelance professional and has founded Consulenza Sostenibile (Sustainable Consultancy), a hub specialising in communication for business development, consultancy for corporate social responsibility and social innovation, with a specific interest in the fields of green economy and start ups. Among others, she is a consultant for the Fondazione Sviluppo Sostenibile (Sustainable Development Foundation), the reference think tank for green economy, and for the CSR Manager Network, the association of social and environmental policy managers of major Italian companies.She is actively involved in training on the subjects of corporate social responsibility and social marketing on behalf of various organisations (the Sole 24 Ore Business School, the Roma 3 University’s Graduate Course in Economy and Management, the ASVI School of Management, Business International, Global Learning etc.), in addition to communication related subjects, with specific reference to media relations and reputation management strategies and techniques. She collaborates with the Scuola di Alta Formazione (Higher Education School) Altis of the Cattolica University of Milan for CSR topics.

She is involved in and writes about corporate social innovation, strategic philanthropy and social business, collaborating with various publications, including La Nuova Ecologia and Greenbusiness.

She works as a director of ANIMA for the social aspects of corporate values, the association sponsored by Unindustria to disseminate the corporate social responsibility culture in the economic, social and environmental spheres, and belongs to the informal network of I-SIN, the Italian Social Innovation Network. She is one of the CSR experts of the Fondazione Consumo Sostenibile (Sustainable Consumerism Foundation).
