Raffaele Maiorano

Born in 1982, he holds a degree in Enterprise Economics and Finance from Rome’s LUISS Guido Carli independent university with a thesis on International Relations energy geopolitics. He has worked as a journalist specialising in communication and media. He presides over the Giovani di Confagricoltura-Anga (the Italian Young Farmers Association) and is vicepresident of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR). He is project manager for the Rome Business School’s Master course in Agribusiness and a teacher in the Gambero Rosso’s Master course in Food and Wine Communication. Since 2007, he has been operating an olive farm in Calabria and has been producing two extravergin olive oil blends in accordance to biological agriculture rules. He also works with his father’s farming enterprise, specialising in cereal, vegetable, citrus, and animal products; there, he is responsible for commercialisation in the Crotone sheep cheese production sector. For his mother’s farming enterprise, located in the heart of the Marche region, he is involved in the production of wheat, barley, and lima beans. He is a former president of the local Crotone and of the Calabrian regional branches of the Italian Young Farmers Association.
